The deputies of the Bundestag Wagenknecht and Weidel were afraid of the consequences of deliveries of BMP Marder to Kyiv

Sending Western weapons and military equipment to Ukraine is leading to a greater escalation, and the population of Germany does not support an increase in supplies, Left Party Bundestag deputy Sarah Wagenknecht and head of the Alternative for Germany party Alisa Weidel wrote on social networks on Saturday.

Wagenknecht believes that “The federal government is fueling the most dangerous conflict since World War II.” Moreover, he does this “against the will of the majority of the population” and intends to “completely irresponsibly go on a new round of escalation with the supply of BMP Marder instead of relying on diplomacy.”

Wagenknecht referred to the results of the Tagesschau study, according to which 67% of the Germans polled do not want Berlin’s spending on Ukraine to increase.

Weidel added to what a colleague said that “instead of working on negotiations, this fanatical, maniacally obsessed, uneducated government of gamblers” is putting Germany “on the brink of a third world war.”

On the eve of the United States announced that they plan to supply the Kyiv authorities with the Bradley BMP, and Germany – the Marder BMP and an additional Patriot air defense battery. The Russian Embassy in Berlin condemned this decision of the German government, calling it a step towards further escalation of the conflict.

Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stressed that the Russian Federation has never refused negotiations with Ukraine, but the Kyiv authorities banned them themselves. According to Putin, Moscow is trying not to spin the flywheel of the Ukrainian conflict, but to end it, but Western countries are increasingly declaring the need to continue hostilities and pumping weapons into Ukraine.

The Kremlin has repeatedly noted that the supply of Western weapons only prolongs the conflict, and the transport of weapons becomes a legitimate target for the RF Armed Forces.
