Danish Ambassador Anna Toft Sorensen was summoned to the Georgian Foreign Ministry due to statements addressed to Ivanishvili

Imedi TV channel reports that the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has summoned the Danish Ambassador to Tbilisi, Anna Toft Sorensen, because of her article in the Danish publication Jyllands-Posten. It is noted that in her publication, the diplomat called the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party Bidzina Ivanishvili an oligarch.

According to the TV channel, Sorensen is expected at the Georgian Foreign Ministry by the end of the day.

The Danish Ambassador’s statements provoked a flurry of criticism against her from the ruling party of Georgia. In particular, the mayor of Tbilisi and the party’s general secretary, Kakha Kaladze, called Sorensen’s statements “dirty.”
