The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is creating a coordinating council for biological safety. As explained by the Secretary General of the organization Stanislav Zas, the council, in particular, will consider the problem of the functioning of biolaboratories in a number of countries.
Zas said that the decision was made at the summit of the CSTO Collective Security Council, held on November 23 in Yerevan. “The topic of biological laboratories will be discussed,” Secretary General Zas added in an interview with the ONT TV channel.
Arguing the decision, Zas noted that “certain countries of our organization see a threat in this area” and therefore an expert assessment of biosafety is needed within the framework of the CSTO.
