Ministry of Defense: the crew of the T-72B3M tank helped attack aircraft take a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Artemovsk direction
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the crew of the modernized T-72B3M tank provided fire support to the assault units of the South group of troops during the capture of a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Artemovsk direction in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR).
According to the Russian military department, fire on strongholds of Ukrainian nationalists was carried out from indirect firing positions. The ministry indicated that the issuance of target designation and adjustment of tank fire at Ukrainian Armed Forces positions was provided by an advanced reconnaissance group using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
As noted by the Ministry of Defense, the precise work of spotters and the tank crew allowed one of the shots to destroy a dugout containing Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel who were hiding from the shelling. The department added that after the completion of the artillery raid, the assault unit was able to take enemy positions, securing a stronghold for subsequent advance.
