People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Andrei Kovalchuk created a full-length bronze sculpture of politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky. A monument 2.75 meters high is planned to be erected at the grave of a political figure at the Novodevichy Cemetery in Moscow.
Kovalchuk said that in the figure of Zhirinovsky he wanted to convey a strong-willed and decisive character, “a constant readiness for battle and struggle.”
The monument will be open to the public after all official ceremonies on April 6 – the anniversary of Zhirinovsky’s death.
Kovalchuk pointed out that bronze is a very resistant and noble metal, good for monuments, it allows you to accurately convey the main features of the face – in the case of Zhirinovsky, this is especially important, Kovalchuk believes.
The pedestal is made of two types of granite – black-brown and greenish. A quote from the politician will be engraved on the base, its content has not yet been disclosed. The inscription is applied according to the will of Zhirinovsky.
