The Tverskoy Court of Moscow found the coordinator of the “Left Front” Sergei Udaltsov guilty of an administrative offense. For violating the rules for organizing a rally (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation), Mr. Udaltsov received 40 hours of compulsory labor, TASS reports.
Today, December 21, police officers detained Sergei Udaltsov on Red Square. According to Mr. Udaltsov, the reason for the arrest was the action, which the police considered unauthorized.
According to a message in Telegram-activist channel, the action was organized in honor of the 144th anniversary of the birth of Joseph Stalin. It is specified that about 1 thousand people took part in it, who “expressed severe criticism of the socio-economic policy of the authorities and demanded to begin implementing comprehensive socialist reforms.”
“Left Front” is a socio-political movement. In 2014, the coordinator of the Left Front, Sergei Udaltsov, was sentenced to four and a half years in the case of the riots on Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012. On August 8, 2017, Sergei Udaltsov was released.
