The Supreme Court of the LPR sentenced a resident of Lutugino to 14 years in prison in a case of treason, writes “RIA News”.
Lutugino has been a part of the LPR since 2014. According to the investigation, during the year, from April 2021 to April 2022, the man was collecting military information and information constituting state secrets in the interests of the main intelligence department of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry. It is clarified that he did this for material reward.
The man was found guilty of treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), he was sentenced to 14 years, which he will serve in a strict regime colony. The maximum punishment under this article provides for imprisonment for up to 20 years or life.
July 4 FSB reported on the detention of a citizen of Ukraine who lives on the territory of the LPR, in a case of espionage. According to the department, the man collected and transmitted information about the places of deployment and the movement of units of the People’s Militia of the LPR and the Russian army. A criminal case on espionage was initiated against him (Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The maximum punishment under this article provides for imprisonment for up to 20 years.
