The Basmanny Court of Moscow granted the petition of the investigation to extend the detention of Alexander Permyakov, accused of blowing up the car of Zakhar Prilepin, a Vedomosti correspondent reports from the courtroom.
The court left Permyakov in jail until October 6. Earlier, he was charged with a terrorist attack (Article 205 of the Criminal Code) and illegal arms trafficking (Article 222 of the Criminal Code). He was sent into custody for two months in May by the Semenovsky District Court of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
At the hearing on the extension of the preventive measure, it became knownthat the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) did not establish those who ordered the blowing up of the writer’s car. In this regard, the court granted the investigator’s request to close the process from listeners and the media.
In May, the chairman of the ICR, Alexander Bastrykin, said that Permyakov did not act alone and that the investigation was establishing his accomplices. He called the defendant the perpetrator. According to Bastrykin, the attempt on Prilepin is a special operation of the Ukrainian special services. It was reported that Permyakov admitted to working for the Ukrainian special services.
Prilepin’s car was blown up on the morning of May 6 in the Nizhny Novgorod region. As a result of the explosion, Prilepin’s assistant and ally, Alexander Shubin, a native of Lugansk, who previously served in the LPR, died. The writer himself suffered and underwent several operations.
