All five foreign mercenaries who participated in the battles on the side of Kyiv in the Donbass are mentally healthy, the presiding judge informs.
“All the defendants are mentally healthy and have no abnormalities,” she said.
Recall that on Monday in Donetsk, charges were announced against five foreign mercenaries – citizens of Sweden and Croatia Matias Gustavsson and Vekoslav Prebeg, immigrants from the UK John Harding, Andrew Hill and Dylan Healy. The testimonies of witnesses were heard, as well as the materials of the case, the court session went on for more than six hours. The defendants did not admit their guilt and disagreed with the charges, the next meeting will be held in October.
According to the data of the Russian Ministry of Defense published in mid-July, more than 7,000 mercenaries from more than 60 countries of Europe, Asia, America, Africa, and Australia have arrived in Ukraine since February 24. The official representative of the Russian military department, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, added that the mercenaries who arrived in Ukraine were not combatants and “the best thing that awaits them is a long term in prison.”
