The Sovetsky District Court of Ufa has published the motivational part of the ruling on a fine for the leader of the DDT group, Yuri Shevchuk. It follows from the document that the musician’s statements “incited doubts” for the purpose of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.
It is also reported that Shevchuk called on viewers to answer his questions, “thus carrying out public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the RF Armed Forces.”
The leader of the DDT group, Yuri Shevchuk, was found guilty under the article on discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The Ufa court imposed a fine of 50,000 rubles on him.
On May 18, Shevchuk, speaking in Ufa, shared his ideas about the meaning of the word “Motherland”, and also made pacifist statements, interpreted by law enforcement officers as potentially discrediting the country’s armed forces. They talked with the musician for an hour in the dressing room and drew up a report on him.
Subsequently, the Dzerzhinsky District Court of St. Petersburg returned the materials of the administrative case to the Ufa police, indicating that the protocol did not describe the event of the offense and “there is no indication of what exactly the public calls to prevent the use” of the RF Armed Forces expressed.
On August 5, the DDT leader’s defense petitioned for a retransmission of the case at the musician’s place of residence in St. Petersburg, but this petition was also denied.
