The Moscow Arbitration Court declared the cellular retailer Svyaznoy bankrupt based on the company’s own application, they report “RIA News” And Interfax. Bankruptcy proceedings have been opened against the company.

By a court decision, Philip Angelevski, a member of the Avangard union of arbitration managers, was appointed bankruptcy manager of Svyaznoy. As the agencies report, during the court hearing Mr. Angelevski said that restoring the company’s solvency was impossible. At the same time, he noted that Svyaznoy has enough property to finance the bankruptcy procedure. Filip Angelewski is due to submit a progress report on June 4, 2024.

In March 2023, Svyaznoy filed a bankruptcy petition in court, the court recognized it as justified in June and introduced a monitoring procedure. The company’s liabilities, according to the court’s determination, amounted to 53.9 billion rubles. After this, the company’s stores throughout Russia started close. The last Svyaznoy stores in Moscow, the Moscow region and St. Petersburg stopped operating in early September.

In 2022 to Svyaznoy submitted a total of 79 claims totaling almost 15 billion rubles. Some of the company’s creditors, in particular Alfa Bank and Lorus Avtotrans, as well as suppliers, logisticians, lessors and other partners of the retailer, presented their claims. In October 2023 Alfa Bank appealed to the court with a request to declare bankrupt the main owner of the cellular retailer, the Cyprus company DTSRetail Ltd.
