The court arrested the former mayor of Belgorod for two months

The former head of Belgorod, Anton Ivanov, suspected of taking bribes, was arrested for two months in a case of taking a bribe, transmits “RIA News”. This decision was taken on Wednesday by the Sverdlovsk District Court of Belgorod.

“Choose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for a period of two months,” the judge said.

How to be specified on the website of the Investigative Committee for the region, Ivanov is suspected of taking a bribe on an especially large scale, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement (part 6 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The online publication Fonar.tv previously reported that the detention of the ex-mayor may be related to his previous job – Ivanov was the general director of the Belgorod Mortgage Corporation (BIC).

According to investigators, from 2019 to 2021. Ivanov instructed the executive director of BIK JSC to conclude loan agreements between the company and several commercial organizations. The parties, as noted in the message of the UK, have concluded additional agreements on extending the terms of contracts, increasing the amount of loans, as well as non-application of tariff sanctions for late repayment.

“Subsequently, the repayment of debt under the above loan agreements for a total amount of more than 50,000,000 rubles. not produced. At the same time, during the period of receipt of these loans through a third commercial organization, a car worth more than 2,500,000 rubles was transferred to the property of the General Director of BIK JSC, ”the UK said.

RIA Novosti also writes that Ivanov was detained while trying to fly to Uzbekistan. His lawyer during the court session said that next week she and the suspect were going to be in Belgorod.

Later, the governor said that the ex-mayor was unable to work at the required pace. On February 21, at an operational meeting, Gladkov said that, following an audit of the activities of the BIC in previous years, it was found that its employees violated the law.
