The Moskovsky District Court of St. Petersburg arrested for two months 21-year-old Alexandra Karaseva, who the day before threw a Molotov cocktail at the wall of a polling station, reported United press service of the courts of St. Petersburg.
She is accused of obstructing the exercise of voting rights and the work of election commissions (clause “c” of Part 2 of Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The period of detention is until May 14. The girl admitted guilt and asked the court for house arrest.
According to investigators, a group of people, acting by prior conspiracy, developed a plan to interfere with the work of election commissions. For this purpose, the group members decided to set fire to the entrance to one of the polling stations. Through Telegram, these individuals contacted Alexandra Karaseva and invited her to commit a crime. According to preliminary information, unknown persons from Ukraine tried to interfere with the elections.
On the first day of the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, March 15, Alexandra Karaseva came to house 40 on Varshavskaya Street, where polling stations No. 1395 and No. 1396 are located, and threw a Molotov cocktail at the wall of the house. The information sign lit up. On the same day, the girl was detained and charged. Alexandra Karaseva was born on August 10, 2002. She moved to St. Petersburg from the city of Blagoveshchensk, Amur Region. Studying at St. Petersburg State University.
