How informs “Kommersant”, on the afternoon of October 2, the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation promulgated four resolutions on the recognition of international treaties on the admission of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions to the Russian Federation in accordance with the Constitution.

The Constitutional Court stressed that the reason for such a decision was the need to preserve the main values - the lives of people – residents of these regions.

“The Constitutional Court found the treaties in line with the Constitution, primarily on the basis that there is a direct threat to the lives of the population of the regions … And human life is the most sacred thing on Earth,” commented the chairman of the court, Valery Zorkin, on this decision.
