The deputies of the Moscow city branch of the Communist Party unanimously supported the candidacy of the grandson of party leader Leonid Zyuganov in the election of the mayor of Moscow. The head of the Communist Party faction in the Moscow City Duma, Nikolai Zubrilin, explained that the nomination of Leonid Zyuganov was due to his ten years of experience in the party, eight years of experience as a deputy of the Moscow City Duma. He also heads the commission on science and industry of the Moscow City Duma.
Elections of the mayor of Moscow will be held from 8 to 10 September. United Russia nominated the incumbent mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the party “New people” – Vice Speaker of the State Duma Vladislav Davankov, LDPR – Vice Speaker of the State Duma Boris Chernyshov, “A Just Russia – For Truth” – First Deputy Head of the party faction in the State Duma Dmitry Gusev.
