The Committee of the Federation Council supported the law on the publication of declarations of deputies in a generalized form

The Federation Council Committee on Rules and Organization of Parliamentary Activities recommended adopting a law on the publication of information on income, expenses and property of deputies and senators in a generalized form, transmits TASS.

According to the law, income information for members of legislative bodies at all levels will be posted on the Internet without containing personal data – that is, without indicating the names and surnames of parliamentarians. The law will come into force on March 1, 2023.

Interlocutor in the Committee on State Construction of the State Duma earlier explained “Vedomosti” that generalized information means “statistical information”: how many declarations were submitted, how many were not submitted, whether violations were identified in them, etc.

The law also simplifies the procedure for declaring income and property of regional and municipal deputies who carry out their activities without leaving their main place of work. Such officials will have to submit declarations after being elected and in the event that during the reporting period they made major transactions that exceed the total income of the deputy and his wife (spouse) for the previous three years.

Bill was introduced to the State Duma on December 1, 2022, already on December 20 it was adopted in the first reading. On January 24, the draft was approved in the second reading, and the next day – in third. At the same time, Pavel Krasheninnikov, head of the Committee on State Building and Legislation, emphasized that the adopted law does not mean a reduction in control.

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the bill, declaredthat “the conditions of a special military operation bring their own specifics [в антикоррупционную работу]”.
