According to him, thanks to the actions of the Russian reconnaissance units, the enemy failed to achieve surprise in carrying out his task.

When trying to overcome the minefields, 4 tanks and a demining installation were destroyed. Having suffered losses, the enemy was forced to abandon the minefield.

Then the Russian aviation started the fire defeat. “Our pilots, operating from extremely low altitudes, inflicted defeat on the enemy with anti-tank guided missiles, and their contribution to the fire defeat amounted to 9 tanks and infantry fighting vehicles,” the colonel general said.

Anti-aircraft gunners shot down 11 unmanned aerial vehicles, the casualties of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the offensive amounted to 350 people, more than 30 tanks, including three Leopards and more than ten infantry fighting vehicles.

In turn, the commander of the 58th Army, Major General Ivan Popov, noted the courage, heroism and courage of the units of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division, which ensured the stability of the defense.

“Skillfully organized fire engagement, reconnaissance and surveillance, tanks that were used by the commanders of the battalions of the first echelon – all together with the actions of the units of the representatives of the armed forces played their most important role in repelling today’s enemy attempt to break through the defense,” the commander said.
