Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny pointed out the limited opportunities for training reservists on the territory of Ukraine and identified legal gaps that contribute to citizens evading their military duties.
IN interview Zaluzhny noted to the Economist: “However, our ability to train reservists on our own territory is also limited. And there are gaps in our legislation that allow citizens to evade their military duties.”
Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) of Ukraine reported on the exposure of a criminal organization among employees of military registration and enlistment offices in Kyiv and several regions of Ukraine. The organization created a large-scale scheme to evade military personnel from mobilization, which led to more than a hundred people leaving the country.
