President Vladimir Putin met with Chairman of the Supreme Court Vyacheslav Lebedev. They discussed the use of digital technologies by the judicial system, including the work of the state automated system (GAS) “Justice”.
Mr. Putin said that the Supreme Court, under the leadership of the current chairman, “does a lot for the accessibility of the judicial system.” According to him, in 2023, about 9 million documents were submitted to courts of various instances electronically. Mr. Lebedev clarified that in total there were about 11 billion requests to the State Automated System “Justice”.
“The population and citizens actively take advantage of the opportunity to submit a request through this system and receive answers to the questions that arise when preparing to go to court. So it’s very effective,” says Vyacheslav Lebedev, quoted by press service Kremlin.
In 2024, the “Online Justice” super service is expected to be fully operational, which will allow citizens to go to court through the “State Services” portal and, perhaps, even participate in court hearings remotely. The Federation Council is also discussing the possibility of using artificial intelligence in courts – in many countries it is already actively used to analyze practice, predict court decisions and even resolve simple cases. But in Russia, judging by expert reviews, neither judges nor applicants are ready for this yet.
Details – in the material “Kommersant” “Artificial intelligence is called to court”.
