During the briefing, the head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, spoke about the progress of the presidential elections. She reported that since the start of remote electronic voting resources (DEG), 280 thousand hacker attacks have been prevented. According to her, 215 thousand of them were sent to the voting portal, 65 thousand to the voting monitoring portal.
“In the last 24 hours alone, 12 thousand 600 potentially dangerous impacts of high and medium severity were recorded from the Internet on the Central Election Commission website, including four targeted DDoS attacks with a total duration of 16 minutes,” said Ms. Pamfilova (quoted from “Interfax”). According to her, all attacks were blocked and there were no disruptions to the portal.
Voting in the presidential elections takes place from March 15 to 17. The CEC registered four candidates as candidates: Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Vladimir Putin (self-nominated). According to the results of the second day of elections, 4.2 million people voted in the capital, most of them through the DEG. According to Ella Pamfilova, 1,115 international observers and experts from 129 countries are monitoring the voting process in Russia.
