The Central Election Commission of Russia at 18:00 Moscow time on January 1 completed accepting documents from candidates for participation in the presidential elections nominated by political parties. The application stage of the presidential campaign has been completed, it says in the Telegram channel of the Central Election Commission.

Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Nikolai Bulaev previously told TASS that there are 11 people on the list of possible candidates for the elections. According to him, the rest – more than 30 people who had previously notified the commission of their intention to participate in the elections – did not reach the stage of submitting documents.

Currently on the list of possible candidates: Russian President Vladimir Putin (self-nominated), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation), Vladislav Davankov (New People), Sergei Baburin (Russian All-People’s Union), Andrei Bogdanov (Russian Party freedom and justice), Boris Nadezhdin (Civil Initiative), Sergei Malinkovich (Communists of Russia), Irina Sviridova (Democratic Party of Russia), bloggers Rada of Russians and Anatoly Batashev (both self-nominated).

Presidential elections are scheduled for March 17, 2024. They will take place over three days – March 15, 16 and 17.
