The Central Election Commission found more than the acceptable 5% of defects in signatures for Nadezhdin – Kommersant

The Central Election Commission (CEC) invalidated 9,147 signatures in support of the Civil Initiative presidential candidate Boris Nadezhdin. 95,587 signatures were recognized as reliable. The candidate from the “Communists of Russia” Sergei Malinkovich had 96,019 signatures recognized as valid, 8,979 – invalid. Both candidates were denied registration as candidates for the elections.

Boris Nadezhdin submitted 104.7 thousand signatures, Sergei Malinkovich – 104.9 thousand. They checked 60 thousand signatures from both. The maximum number of marriages allowed by law to participate in elections is 5%. Sergey Malinkovich stated, which respects the decision of the Central Election Commission and will not challenge it. Boris Nadezhdin asked postpone the question of its registration until February 10.

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, said that signatures for Boris Nadezhdin were collected by members of election commissions. According to her, this is illegal. She promised to bring these collectors to administrative responsibility. Representatives of the Central Election Commission also reported that among those who signed for Boris Nadezhdin, 11 dead people were identified. “This is the height of cynicism and a violation of all the rules,” said Nikolai Bulaev, deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission.

Earlier, Boris Nadezhdin reported that in various regions of Russia he managed to collect more than 200 thousand signatures. Politician saidthat his headquarters will challenge the decision of the Central Election Commission to recognize part of the collected signatures as invalid. If this fails, he will appeal to the Supreme Court.

The Central Election Commission registered four candidates for the presidential elections: Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Nikolai Kharitonov (KPRF), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Vladimir Putin (self-nominated). Representatives of non-parliamentary parties Andrei Bogdanov, Irina Sviridova and Sergei Baburin, who collected signatures, refused to participate in the election race. There has not yet been a final decision on the self-nominated Rada of Russians and Anatoly Batashev, who collected an insufficient number of signatures.
