The Central Election Commission allowed Nadezhdin to begin collecting signatures to participate in the elections – Kommersant

The Central Election Commission allowed Dolgoprudny municipal deputy Boris Nadezhdin to begin collecting signatures to participate in the Russian presidential elections in 2024, as well as to open a special election account. The politician reported this in Telegram.

Mr. Nadezhdin thanked everyone who supported him and asked to help him collect signatures. According to the candidate, now the main task of his election team is to open an election account and start collecting donations.

“We are conducting (the election— “Kommersant”) the campaign is not financed by the state, not by the money of the oligarchs. We are conducting a campaign with the money that many thousands of people are already paying us… We need to collect tens of millions of rubles to ensure the work of thousands of people in election headquarters,” said Mr. Nadezhdin.

Today, December 28, the Central Election Commission also approved the nomination of Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Vladislav Davankov (New People) and Andrei Bogdanov (Russian Freedom and Justice Party) as presidential candidates. Elections will be held March 15–17, 2024. The current president, Vladimir Putin, is running as a self-nominated candidate.

Boris Nadezhdin’s candidacy for participation in the presidential elections put forward “Civil Initiative”. The party is not represented in the State Duma, so Mr. Nadezhdin needs to collect 100 thousand signatures by the end of January to register in the elections. According to the politician, he is going to the elections with “a simple and understandable slogan: Putin must go.” Mr. Nadezhdin considers the start of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine a “fatal mistake,” and the country, which has since been moving “in a rut of militarism and isolation,” needs, in his words, a “project for the future.”
