The Central Bank predicts inflation at the level of 12-13% by the end of 2022

The Central Bank of Russia has revised its inflation forecast, including taking into account the postponement of indexation of housing and communal services tariffs from July 2023 to December 2022. According to the forecasts of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, by the end of 2022, annual inflation will be 12-13%. At the end of September, the regulator informedthat by the end of the year inflation will drop to 11-13%.

The bank’s press release notes that annual inflation continues to decline. In September, the growth rate of consumer prices decreased from 14.3% to 13.7%. As of October 21, it was 12.9%.

“Despite the current decline in annual inflation, inflation expectations of the population and business are at an elevated level and have slightly increased compared to the summer months. Inflationary expectations of professional analysts for the medium term are anchored near 4%,” the report says. press release.

According to analysts, in 2023 annual inflation will continue to decline and will be 5-7%, in 2024 – 4%.
