The Central Bank has postponed the submission of the Monetary Policy Review (MPR) from 2022 to 2023 amid significant changes in macroeconomic conditions, informs press service of the Bank of Russia. The regulator will publish a new plan for conducting analytical work and activities in September.
“The dramatic change in external conditions for the Russian economy in early 2022, associated with increased external trade and financial restrictions and the introduction of capital control measures, fundamentally affected the conditions for conducting monetary policy,” the Central Bank said in a statement. Now, in order to sum up the CSTO, the regulator considers it necessary to rethink and re-analyze the new reality of the Russian economy.
The purpose of the MTCT is to comprehensively assess the first results of inflation targeting in Russia, as well as the compliance of the current monetary policy parameters with changing conditions.
In October 2021, the Central Bank published a plan of analytical work and activities that would be carried out within the framework of the CSTO. It was expected that during the second quarter of 2022 the regulator will publish analytical notes, and will also present an overview report. Their results were planned to be presented in the middle of this year.
