The Central Bank made changes to the key rate forecast in 2023

First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Ksenia Yudaeva said that the regulator allows changes in the forecast for the average key rate for 2023 in the range of 6.5-8.5%. Now the key rate is set at 7.5%.
“Our rate expectations are related to the forecast. Now we will make new decisions, revise the forecast, take into account in the forecast various new factors and the situation in the financial and, above all, oil and gas markets, and so on. And, perhaps, based on this information, we will slightly adjust our rate forecast, ”Ksenia Yudaeva said in an interview. Tinkoff Private Talks.
Among the factors that the Bank of Russia intends to take into account in the February forecast, Ms. Yudaeva named the oil market conditions, the final budget, production restrictions due to COVID-19, as well as sanctions restrictions. “We will have to evaluate all these factors and understand whether we will change our vision regarding the situation in the economy for this year or not,” Ksenia Yudaeva stressed.
According to the forecast of the Central Bank, in 2024 the key rate will be 6-7%, and in 2025 – 5-6%. On February 10, a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia is planned, during which the level of the key rate will be discussed.
