First Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Olga Skorobogatova called on Sberbank to cancel commissions for transfers from the bank. She said this as part of moderating the Payments and Innovations session at the Financial Congress in St. Petersburg.
“We are very much looking forward to the wisest decision of Sberbank at Finopolis (a forum to be held on November 8-10 – Kommersant) to cancel commissions for transfers from Sberbank. I assure you that customer loyalty will increase from this,” she said.
However, as follows from the answer of the first deputy chairman of Sberbank Kirill Tsarev, such a decision is possible after the market: “There is a market … everyone has these commissions, so if the market goes into this, Sberbank will also look at it.” Ms. Skorobogatova, who is a client of five banks, objected that she “has something to compare with,” and not everyone has commissions. The audience supported her proposal with thunderous applause.
Olga Skorobogatova also gave one of the examples when the abolition of commissions led to an influx of money into banks. “For example, I can say that it was very significant when several large banks canceled all commissions on transfers, when clients make them from outside, we saw the flow of money to these banks. This is what I have said to so many players. Instead of setting protective tariffs and introducing some kind of restrictions, on the contrary, give the client the opportunity to freely dispose of his funds – he will choose you himself and will use your products himself.
