The CEC spoke about the work of electronic voting in the presidential elections

Remote electronic voting (DEV) in the presidential elections in Russia in 2024 will take place in those regions where it has already been tested. This was announced by the head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Ella Pamfilova during a meeting with students at the Pacific State University in Khabarovsk.

“We now assume that remote electronic voting in the presidential elections will take place exactly in those regions where it was tested last year, this year. So that we understand how well the region conducts this vote. Not a single region is new – one that has not yet held – will not use remote electronic voting in the presidential elections, ”she said (cit. according to RIA Novosti).

At the same time, Pamfilova noted that on a single voting day in 2023, the DEG will be applied in 20 regions. According to her, applications for the use of electronic voting were submitted in 30 regions, but they will be selected according to several criteria, including Internet coverage and coverage of public services. The final list of regions that will apply the DEG on the single voting day in 2023 will be presented in the summer.

Formerly Deputy Chairman of the CEC of Russia Nikolai Bulaev declaredthat he is confident in the use of DEG in the upcoming presidential elections in the Russian Federation in 2024. According to him, the CEC received 27 applications from different regions for the use of DEG in 2024.
