The CAA of Kharkiv region allowed a referendum to be held

If a decision is made to hold a referendum in the Kharkiv region, it is necessary to study the opinion of the people declared “RIA Novosti” head of the military-civilian administration of the region Vitaly Ganchev.

“The primary task is not only to hold, perhaps, a referendum. The most important thing is to study people’s opinions. … For me, as the head of the administration, the most important thing is to listen to people’s opinions,” Ganchev said.

He added that the decision to hold a referendum would be made only after studying the opinions of the residents.

Earlier, Ganchev reported that about 20% of the Kharkiv region is under the control of the Russian Armed Forces. He noted that the situation in the region remains tense due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and there is also a danger of penetration by sabotage groups. In July, there were introduced martial law, TASS reported with reference to the press service of the VGA.

Last week under the control of Russian troops passed the village of Udy in the Kharkiv region, the Ministry of Defense reported.

In June, the pro-Russian authorities in Zaporozhye announced plans to become part of Russia before the end of the year. On August 8, the head of the Zaporozhye region, Evgeny Balitsky, signed a decree on holding a referendum.

The Kherson region, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, has been under the complete control of Russian troops since mid-March. Local authorities have repeatedly said that the region intends to become part of the Russian Federation. In August, the deputy head of the CAA of the Kherson region, Ekaterina Gubareva, announced that it was planned to join the liberated territories of the Nikolaev region to the Kherson region.

The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Denis Pushilin, said on August 11 that the date of the referendum on the republic’s entry into Russia would be announced after the region’s territory was completely liberated.
