German General Bühler: sending troops to Ukraine will not change the situation
The former commander of the NATO-led international forces in Kosovo, retired Bundeswehr Lieutenant General Erhard Bühler, on a podcast broadcast by the MDR television and radio company, gave a negative forecast of the consequences of the entry of Western troops into Ukraine.
The deployment of ground forces of individual countries in Ukraine will not improve the situation, the German general expressed his opinion, emphasizing that this is regardless of the goals of the operation.
Bühler noted that as a result the situation “will become more complex and unmanageable.”
He recalled the negative experience of the NATO military, when different contingents and several command structures interfered with the successful coordination of troops.
According to the general, fragmentation and lack of unity of command only complicates everything and will not help the overall situation.
Bühler admitted that the topic of sending Western troops to Ukraine could be used, but only in rhetoric as a deterrent. In fact, the general said, it is better to “stay away” from the implementation of these thoughts.
