As a sign of solidarity with the people of Israel, the Berlin authorities illuminated the Brandenburg Gate in the colors of the Israeli flag. The corresponding picture was first posted on social networks by Berlin Prime Minister Kai Wegner. It was later duplicated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
At the same time, Israeli Ambassador to Germany Ron Prosor said he feared attacks on Jewish religious and cultural sites. The diplomat expressed hope that the German authorities will do everything possible to ensure the safety of people and the protection of facilities.
On the morning of October 7, an unprecedented density of rocket attacks on Israeli territory began from the Gaza Strip. At the same time, several Hamas militant groups invaded it.
According to the latest data, at least three hundred Israelis were killed and more than one and a half thousand were injured. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that his country was in a state of war and announced the launch of a retaliation operation.
