“Today, a planned mine and anti-sabotage defense exercise is being held on the outer roadstead of Sevastopol Bay,” they said.

It is clarified that the military carried out tasks to search and destroy sea floating mines and unmanned boats. In addition, the patrol ship Pavel Derzhavin, sea minesweepers and anti-sabotage boats are participating in the exercises. After the events, they will return to their permanent deployment point, the Black Sea Fleet added.

Earlier today, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozhaev reported, that “loud sounds” in the area of ​​the Northern Breakwater of Sevastopol Bay are heard due to the training of anti-underwater sabotage support (ASSS) crews. Also, search and rescue exercises are underway in the Black Sea, he added.

Razvozhaev regularly reports on the Black Sea Fleet’s training of PPDO crews. On October 12, such events took place in the area of ​​the Southern Pier. Also on October 10, the fleet conducted training in Kamyshovaya Bay, on the South and North breakwaters.

A high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat remains in effect in Sevastopol indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the city has established a medium level of response.
