The bill on indexation of pensions for non-working pensioners passed the first reading

The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill indexing social pensions for non-working pensioners. From January 1, pension payments will increase by 7.5%, according to website lower house of parliament.

According to Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin, the budget has already included funds for indexation. The speaker said that indexation would affect 32 million citizens. “Additional budget expenses for increasing pensions in 2024 will amount to about 234 billion rubles,” added Vyacheslav Volodin.

October 10, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov saidthat the future budget will ensure the fulfillment of social obligations in full. In particular, pensions, maternal capital and other social payments will be indexed. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered legislative approval of this decision.
