The battalion commander of the fifth separate assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexey Tarasenko, called the situation with personnel critical.
“The troops are very much looking forward to fresh reinforcements,” he noted on the Espresso TV channel.
According to him, in many areas and in many units, “the situation is quite critical.” Tarasenko explained that the quality of the newcomers joining the units leaves much to be desired, since they are mostly “very old men with a lot of problems.”
“We really lack young guys,” the Ukrainian Armed Forces battalion commander emphasized.
According to the battalion commander, the average age of a soldier is now significantly more than 40 years.
