The Estonian Ministry of Defense reported on its website that today in Riga the heads of the military departments of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania signed an agreement on the joint construction of a defense line on the border with Russia.
The defense zone will consist of various facilities designed to contain and protect against military threats.
The Estonian Ministry of Defense calls the “Baltic defense zone” a carefully thought-out project taking into account the experience of the conflict in Ukraine.
At the same time, the Baltic countries do not plan to place explosives and barbed wire in this zone in peacetime.
In turn, the Postimees newspaper reports that Estonia alone intends to build about 600 bunkers on its eastern border.
