Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with the military personnel who ensured order during the mutiny on June 23-24, said that the backbone of the leadership of the Russian armed forces should be formed from those who adequately prove themselves in combat work.

Vladimir Putin noted that all the military who took part in suppressing the Wagner PMC rebellion will be presented with state awards. “Of course, I have already instructed the Minister of Defense: the merits of all those who took part in this part of combat work will be evaluated by the state, meaning state awards,” he said.
