“The information posted on some Armenian accounts on social networks that the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan allegedly went on the offensive in the direction of Khankendi (Azerbaijani name of Stepanakert – Vedomosti) is untrue and is disinformation,” the message says.
Earlier today “Armenpress” reportedthat Baku violated the ceasefire agreement and resumed shelling Stepanakert from various types of firearms. The publication, citing the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Nagorno-Karabakh, writes that shots are heard in the city center. The department urged residents to stay in shelters.
Azerbaijan announced the start of “anti-terrorism measures” necessary for the “restoration of the constitutional order” in Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19. The Russian Foreign Ministry called to “immediately stop the bloodshed” and return to the implementation of trilateral agreements.
The Kremlin previously emphasized that Russian peacekeepers continue to perform their functions in the region. On September 20, the unrecognized republic announced the conclusion of agreements on a complete ceasefire and disarmament of troops with the participation of Russian peacekeepers.
