Konstantin Polyakov, deputy head of the government of the Kursk region, said that only civilian self-defense weapons or hunting firearms can be issued to participants in territorial defense. As the deputy head of the Kursk government noted, today the Saiga-MK service rifles were handed over to the participants in the defense, which were assigned to the most experienced fighters who completed training courses and are members of territorial voluntary people’s squads.
In addition, Polyakov clarified that at the moment the authorities of the region bordering Ukraine continue to work out the procedure for the use of weapons with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Russian Guard and the FSB, and the relevant issue is being worked out in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
