The authorities of Nova Kakhovka announced the grandiose damage to the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station

As a result of shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station received tremendous damage. So, in a conversation with TASS, they were assessed by the head of the Novokakhovsk urban district, Vladimir Leontiev. At the same time, the official noted that the hydroelectric power station could be restored.
“The degree of destruction is grandiose, you need to say so. Since it was built in the shortest possible time, I think that modern technologies will restore it quickly enough,” Leontiev said. He stressed that it was not a matter of several months. Recovery will take a year or more, an accurate estimate can only be made by specialists
Leontiev also noted that other large infrastructure facilities were damaged by strikes from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among them are the North Crimean Canal, the Kakhovka Main Canal and others.
On October 18, the authorities of the Kherson region announced the need to evacuate the inhabitants of the right bank of the region to the left bank of the Dnieper because of the threat of flooding in the event of a strike on the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. On October 31, the evacuation zone was expanded by 15 kilometers in the left-bank part of the region. It included the lands of the Novokakhovsk urban district, Kakhovka, Aleshkinsky, Gornostaevsky, Golopristansky, Velikolepetikhsky and Verkhnerogachiksky municipal districts.
