The authorities of Nikolaev reported overcrowded morgues after the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The city morgues of Nikolaev, in southern Ukraine, are overcrowded after the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said the mayor of the city of Snigirevka (70 km from Nikolaev) Yuriy Barbashov, citing sources familiar with the situation in the medical institutions of Nikolaev.

“All the morgues are full. Now they are experiencing huge problems with donated blood, with clean water and with the provision of these wounded who arrived in Nikolaev, ”he said (quote according to TASS).

According to Barbashov, about 2,000 wounded were admitted to the city, including about 400 to the hospital of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as about the same number to the emergency hospital (BSMP).

On August 29, the Southern Military Command announced the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in southern Ukraine, reported Ministry of Defense. According to the ministry, the soldiers of the Ukrainian army attempted to attack on the territory of the Kherson and Nikolaev regions, but suffered heavy losses due to the active defense of the RF Armed Forces.

On February 24, Russia launched a special military operation in the Donbass and on the territory of Ukraine. Vladimir Putin called its goal the protection of the population of Donbass, as well as the denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine. The beginning of hostilities was preceded by the recognition by Russia on February 22 of the independence of the DPR and LPR proclaimed in the spring of 2014. On April 27, Putin said that the special operation prevented a large-scale conflict in Russia.

Western countries in response to this have sharply increased anti-Russian sanctions, they also provide military assistance to Ukraine. Earlier, American multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS were delivered to Ukraine.
