Artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine purposefully hit the busy road at the entrance to Energodar. RIA Novosti was told about this by the head of the city administration Eduard Senovoz.
According to him, the Ukrainian troops shelled the environs of Energodar at ten to six in the morning. According to Senovoz, the time was deliberately chosen for the strike, when a large number of vehicles and people are gathering at the entrance to the city. The head of Energodar also noted that several shells exploded near a gas station, which could have caused serious consequences.
Senovoz also emphasized that the decision taken earlier by the authorities of the Zaporozhye region on the voluntary evacuation of the civilian population from Energodar to safer areas was correct. “I think all these measures, they are not in vain, the whole task was to minimize the number of victims during the shelling of the city … there was such a shelling, and, unfortunately, we cannot assume whether they will still be systematic and what scale it will be. these attacks,” the mayor summed up.
