Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Irek Faizullin said that preferential mortgage programs in some form will be maintained after July 1. According to him, several options are being discussed to preserve them.

“Firstly, it’s completely too early to say, let’s work until July 1. Secondly, preferential programs will still remain in a certain pattern. There are still many options, but there is no final solution,” said Irek Faizullin during the opening of the “Building the Future” exhibition at the “Russia” exhibition and forum.

He also said that the preparation of the main parameters of the preferential mortgage program for individual construction will be completed by the end of the year, after which they will be presented to the government. The minister also noted that the preferential mortgage program has significantly supported the construction industry.

Director of the Financial Stability Department of the Central Bank Elizaveta Danilova spoke this week that the quality of mortgage loans has deteriorated markedly. She called for new measures to regulate mortgage programs. By data Central Bank, over the year the mortgage portfolio of banks grew by 32%, and over the past three years, prices for new buildings have increased by 90%.
