The Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) issued an important statement following the episcopal meeting, calling on the country’s authorities to wisdom and vigilance in domestic and foreign policy.
In a statement, church leaders expressed deep concern about recent events related to the loss of Karabakh. The clerics blamed the incident on Baku and expressed disappointment at the disproportionate reaction of the international community.
According to church leaders, the country’s authorities are creating new threats to the people in the context of complex geopolitical processes. “In addition to the current difficult trials, the policy pursued by the Armenian authorities, which creates new existential threats for our people in the context of extremely dangerous geopolitical processes, is of great concern,” the statement said.
The Church calls on the leadership of Armenia to seriously assess the dangers threatening the people and to stop adventurous policies. It also emphasizes the need for wisdom and vigilance in foreign policy, especially in relations with allied states. Armenia and its people cannot become the object of dangerous experiments by political forces, the church emphasizes.
