The commander of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy, Viktor Liina, said that one of the Project 949A Antey submarines will be equipped with a new missile system and other systems. Among them are “Caliber”, “Onyx” and “Zircon”.
“One of the Project 949 submarines is being modernized, which will be equipped with a new missile system, new aerotechnical weapons and communications, and new service systems will be supplied. It has a different displacement, but will solve the same problems as the Yasen,” Mr. Liina said on the TV channel “Star”.
In November, the Russian Navy got nuclear submarine “Alexander III”. It is armed with Caliber and Onyx cruise missiles.
