June 22 Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Moldova called Ambassador of Russia Oleg Vasnetsov in connection with the statement of the Acting Governor of the Kherson region Vladimir Saldo regarding the missile strike of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on bridges on the administrative border of the Kherson region and Crimea. According to Saldo, “very serious” retaliatory measures could follow the shelling of the Chongar Bridge. At the same time, the acting governor mentioned bridges in the Odessa region and in the Moldovan village of Giurgiulesti. The Moldovan Foreign Ministry called such statements unacceptable.
The attacks on the bridge on the administrative border of the Kherson region and Crimea were carried out on the morning of June 22. The head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, said that the Chongarsky bridge was attacked. The representative of the military investigation department of the Russian Investigative Committee stated that Ukraine released four missiles on the Chongarsky bridge, and noted that during the inspection of the scene, “elements of these missiles were seized, one of which has a marking on the nameplate indicating that this missile was manufactured in France.” According to Saldo, the bridge will remain closed for 15-20 days.
