Coordination of the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Gaza Strip may take up to two weeks, stated Israeli Ambassador to Moscow Ben Zvi in ​​a comment to TASS.

The diplomat explained that due to Cairo restrictions, about 500-600 people are allowed to pass through the Rafah checkpoint on the border of the enclave with Egypt.

“This (coordinating the evacuation of Russians) could take two weeks if they let 600 people through per day,” he said.

The office of the Coordinator of Actions of the Government of Israel in the Palestinian Territories (COGAT, operating under the Ministry of Defense) said in turn that the Israeli military, for the fourth day in a row, opened a corridor for the evacuation of civilians from the northern part of the Gaza Strip to the southern one. It is said to have already been used by thousands of people.

Earlier on November 8, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated in a telephone conversation with Palestinian Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein al-Sheikh about the need to immediately evacuate Russians from the Gaza Strip, as well as the need to increase the volume of humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip.

On October 20, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Russia is ready to evacuate its citizens from the Gaza Strip, and there is a possibility for this. More than 900 people have already been included in the lists for evacuation from the Gaza Strip with Russian help, over 500 of them are Russians.

The Israeli army’s bombing of the enclave began on October 7 after the Palestinian group Hamas attacked the southern regions of the country. About 1,400 people were killed in the attack, and more than 200 were taken hostage by the militants. According to the latest data, the death toll as a result of Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip has exceeded 10,000 people.

On October 27, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution put forward by Arab countries that calls for an immediate truce in the conflict zone. It condemns violence against civilians on both sides, and also calls for the release of illegally held prisoners and compliance with humanitarian law – not to attack peaceful civilian targets.
