Foreign Ministry Ambassador Ozerov said that there is no Russian military presence in Africa
There is no Russian military presence on the African continent. Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated this to RIA Novosti.
According to him, African countries buy military products from Russia and ask for help in ensuring security. However, it cannot be called a military presence, since we do not send our troops to the countries.
As an example of a military presence, Ozerov named US bases in Africa, intelligence centers and military biological laboratories.
Earlier, Oleg Ozerov said that the US and the EU failed to dissuade African leaders from traveling to the Russia-Africa summit, which will be held on July 27-28.
