“Among airports with passenger traffic of more than 15 million per year, we are the only one in the country that exceeded the 2019 figures. Then we served 19.6 million people, in 2023 – 20.4 million. We exceeded the results of 2019 in terms of income – we have records in both non-aviation commerce and aviation,” said RBC Mr. Sergeev.

According to him, domestic tourism is growing at a “cosmic” pace – 17 million passengers were served on Pulkovo domestic flights. In 2019, the airport served 12 million people traveling around the country. According to an RBC source, the airports of the Moscow air hub at the end of 2023 have not yet reached the passenger traffic of 2019.

In December, it became known that the Federal Antimonopoly Service would increase tariffs at Pulkovo Airport for the first time since 2019, and for flights from the regions they would increase by 20%. The service calculated that the increase would be no more than 116 rubles. per passenger. Experts believe that airports, unlike airlines, cannot flexibly reduce fixed costs, and their modernization is often carried out using borrowed funds.
