26% of Russians buy groceries only through delivery services, according to a survey by the analytical service Geo.Platforma. A third of respondents go grocery shopping on their own, 41% alternate between going to the store and ordering online. At the same time, 19% of respondents began to use delivery services less often.
The survey was conducted in December 2023 among 1,251 respondents over the age of 24. The study covered all regions, surveying residents of cities with a population of more than 100 thousand. The results are given RBC.
The main reasons for the decline in the popularity of delivery were rising prices for goods (27%), inconvenient service applications (22%), significantly decreased delivery speed (16%), and poor assortment (15%). A third of Russians said that the main delivery problem is spoiled products, 27% have encountered incomplete orders, a fifth have experienced packaging damage, 19% have received the wrong orders, and 14% have not received an order.
Most often, Russians order drinks to take home (28%). About a quarter of respondents buy baked goods and sweets online. The average cost of an order for every third respondent ranges from 1 thousand to 5 thousand rubles.
