Aymeric Caron, founder of the REV party (Ecological revolution for the living) in 2018 and new deputy for north-east Paris thanks to the Nupes label, underlines that his proposal is a simple reflection of public opinion. A survey Ifop published in September 2021 reveals that 81% of French people would be opposed to bullfights with the killing of the bull. The elected representative, however, takes up an idea already tabled several times in the Assembly, but never put to the vote.
